Guillermo Gonzalez, an assistant professor of astronomy and physics who argues for the theory of intelligent design, was denied tenure this semester by Iowa State University. ...(More here)

Talk about discrimination! Fighting the discrimination against Christians is the new civil rights battle. Imagine if this was happening to a person because they were Muslim, a person of color, or a homosexual. Think that the outcry would be different?

Now, if we are honest, we must admit that if Gonzalez believed in the Big Bang Theory, or the Steady State Theory (or any other godless theory), as opposed to Intelligent Design, he would be excepted and given tenure. When it comes to origins, the godless scientific world only has theories, not proven fact. ISU is choosing certain theories over others.

The bottom line at ISU (and almost everywhere else in the scientific world) is that "your science must not include God". This is in the face of the problem that all theories of origins have (other than Intelligent Design); How does something come from nothing? They can't answer that question. Intelligent Design does, by distinguishing between natural and supernatural. Nature (creation) is designed and made by the supernatural (Creator; God). Revelation, evidence, and logic lead to this conclusion. That's science!

I would submit, that pride (the creature doesn't want to be subordinate to the Creator) and intellectual laziness (not willing to study theology and religions) leads to this godless relativistic world of science. One might say, "How do I know which religion is true?" And then write off all religion claiming that, "it's unknowable", instead of seeking out the truth. True religion is based on faith, but not a blind faith (1Th 5:21, "But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.").

Right is left and up is down. Logic doesn't rule the day. And the simple truth that creation proves a Creator is ignored. This world, our country, and Iowa State University is in a sorry state of affairs.

God is sovereign, however, and we can trust that all who are called will come (John 6:37), and this age will pass away (1 Cor. 2:6, 7).
